About me
Hi, I’m Daniel. I grew up in Monterrey, Mexico, and picked up a tennis racquet for the first time when I was four. From an early age, I was lucky to train with incredible mentors—including a Junior Wimbledon Champion and Davis Cup players—who helped shape my game and my world.
As a junior, I became a four-time National Champion in Mexico and earned a bronze medal at the Junior National Olympics. I reached a national ranking of #2 before moving to the U.S., where I continued competing and growing. I climbed to the top of the Missouri Valley rankings and played college tennis at JCCC and UMKC, where I was honored as “Rookie of the Year,” “Most Valuable Player,” and “Academic of the Year,” with national ITA rankings of #6 in singles and #10 in doubles. In 2021, my USTA Men’s Open League team went 33-0, and I currently hold a 6.0C USTA rating.
I believe great coaching is about helping people break through limitations—often beyond technique and physical ability. Real breakthroughs come from working with the whole person, not just the athlete. I’m endlessly curious about human potential, and I bring a wide range of tools into my coaching—from tennis strategy to mindset work. I’m a USPTA-certified tennis pro, NASM personal trainer, CTA-certified life coach, and Reiki I & II. Though most of what I’ve learned has come from deep questioning, an open mind, and trial and error.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with beginners, division 1 athletes, and professional players. What drives me is seeing someone evolve— as a player and as a human.
When I’m not coaching, i’m probably playing, training, or working on my own goals. If I had time, I’d play all the sports—but these days, it’s mostly soccer (high school Hall of Fame soccer player). I also produce music and spend a lot of time studying anything related to health, performance, and personal growth. I love ideas that challenge the way I view myself and the world.
If that resonates with you and you’re curious to see what’s possible in your game and life, feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect.
