About me

Hi, I’m Daniel. I grew up in Monterrey, Mexico, and picked up a tennis racket for the first time when I was four. From an early age, I was lucky to train with incredible mentors—including a Junior Wimbledon Champion and Davis Cup players—who helped shape not just my game, but the way I approach life and growth.

As a junior, I became a four-time National Champion and earned a bronze medal at the Junior National Olympics in Mexico. I eventually reached a national ranking of #2 before moving to the U.S., where I continued competing and growing. I climbed to the top of the Missouri Valley rankings and played college tennis at JCCC and UMKC, earning awards like “Rookie of the Year,” “Most Valuable Player,” and “Academic of the Year,” along with national ITA rankings of #6 in singles and #10 in doubles. In 2021, my USTA team went 33-0 in the Men’s Open League and I have a 6.0C USTA rating.

To me, great coaching is about helping people break through. And I believe that it is most efficiently done when we see the whole person, not just the athlete. A lot of the time, the real shift isn’t about the forehand or backhand—it’s about mindset, energy, or something deeper. I’m always learning and evolving, and I bring that curiosity into my coaching. I’m certified as a tennis pro (USPTA), personal trainer (NASM), life coach (CTA), and Reiki practitioner (Levels I & II). But honestly, most of what I know comes from experimenting in my own life, learning from others, and questioning everything. I love connecting ideas across disciplines—it helps me see people more clearly and coach more holistically. I’ve worked with all levels, from beginners to Division 1 and pro athletes. What I love most is seeing someone break through perceived limitations or achieve an important goal.

If i’m not coaching, i’m probably playing. I would play all the sports if i have the time - right now it’s mostly soccer and pickleball. I also enjoy reading, mostly nonfiction. Topics revolving around health, psychology, philosophy, stories about people. I am always curious and I love learning about new ways that challenge the way I live.
